OUR STORY

Thank you for visiting our site. My name is Hunter Dunbar and I have been an avid fisherman my whole life. I grew up in Duxbury, Massachusetts and have done most of my fishing on the South Shore.

I have a lifelong passion for exploring and honoring the tidal bays and estuaries of Duxbury Bay and Plymouth. I caught my first striped bass in Eagle's Nest, casting from the marsh. Regardless of what type of fish I've caught or how big it was, I have always been fascinated by the beautiful detail of each fish.

Gyotaku is an art form which originated in Japan and captures an exact print of the fish's body. We paint water soluble ink onto the fish and then press paper to the fish to capture all of its details. All fish we print have been caught in the bays immediately surrounding Gurnet Lighthouse (Duxbury, Kingston, Plymouth & Cape Cod Bay). My wife Katie and I touch up the prints to make sure all details are visible.

Please reach out to Katie and I via the Contact page and give us a follow on the Gurnet Gyotaku social sites linked below. We appreciate your support and look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Hunter
